Call to Worship
Children of God, what has God done for you?
God saves, provides, and holds us in God’s steadfast love.
Consider and remember: in the joyful times and in the sorrowful times, what has God done for you?
God covers us and lifts us up, protecting and empowering us with steadfast love.
When you have been like the fig tree in Jesus’ story that seems unable to produce and that everyone has given up on, what has God done for you?
God tends the soil and waters the ground, nurturing us into life with steadfast love.
Children of God, come, let us worship God who never gives up on us!
We come to worship and cling to God, for God’s steadfast love never fails!

Joys and Concerns and Prayers of the People with The Lord’s Prayer for Lent
Pastor Kelly: On this day, we come into the presence of our God, praying with our Savior as he taught us to pray:
People: Our Parent in heaven, hallowed be your name; your kin-dom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread.
Liturgist: We join with Christians around the world as we say:
People: Give us today our daily bread.
Pastor Kelly: We pray this for ourselves but also for people who are hungry throughout the world.
People: Give us today our daily bread.
Liturgist: We ask not just for daily bread, but for all our daily needs, including our needs for Jesus, who is the bread of life that we seek.
Pastor Kelly: We are grateful for food that comes to us from farms and from gardens, from stores and from restaurants.
People: Give us today our daily bread.
Liturgist: We ask for things to quench our thirst.
Pastor Kelly: We are grateful for water from streams and from lakes,
Liturgist: for milk and for wine and for other good things to drink.
People: Give us today our daily bread.
Pastor Kelly: Our daily bread is more than what we eat and drink.
Liturgist: We ask for governments that are just,
Pastor Kelly: for homes that are places of peace and renewal.
Liturgist: We thank you for all these things that allow us to enjoy our daily bread.
People: Our Parent in heaven, hallowed be your name; your kin-dom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread.
