Cooking Demonstration, Trash and Treasures Sale Planning Highlight April United Methodist Women's Meeting

Kail Cirtain, daughter-in-law of Margaret Cirtain and the manager of the Second Home restaurant in Burnsville, was the guest speaker at the United Methodist Women’s (UMW) meeting on Tuesday, April 12 at the church. Kail is a formally trained chef who gave us a delightful demonstration of making rolls to assist us in our preparing for our annual “Trash and Treasures Sale” on Saturday, May 21, when we will also be selling delicious homemade soups and yeast rolls.

For our sale everyone is encouraged to donate good quality household items, as well as plants and building materials, but we will not be accepting any clothing or shoes. Your items may be brought to the church May 17 through May 20, already priced, and Friday, May 20, is designated as our workday when we will organize and display our sale items. You are asked to contact either Judy Moorhouse or Judy Hulvey for ways that you might be able to assist with the sale, and we need both men and women to help. Please look for an upcoming church bulletin insert with more details about this event. In past years, this sale has involved almost all of our church family!

Also, during our UMW meeting, we discussed plans to assist Mars Hill University international students with preparations for an international dinner.

Please let Pastor Lisa or Paula Dempsey know if you would like to assist with this project.
